Wildlife Animal Camp

 

  • Duration: 2 days / 1 night – 5-6 hours of trekking per day

  • Departure day: Daily departures.

  • Time spent for activity:   trekking 90% transport 10%.

  • Level of difficulty: walking moderate.

  • Transport: tuk  tuk or minivan(local transportation)

  • Accommodation: Shared accommodation in the village with the mattress and mosquito net provided.

  • Meals: 4meals, 2 Lunches, 2Diners and 1 Breakfast.

Day 1 : 

At 8:40 am a tuk tuk driver service and the lead guide service will pick you up from the office at LuangNamtha and drive for about 25km. First, you will stop at the local market where your guide will purchase food for the duration of your trek, here you can see and try many traditional Lao food. Then you will continue by tuk tuk to get to 2 traditional villages:  Ban NamLue, Lanten and Ban Chaluernsuk khmmu ethnic village. The trekking begins with a gradual climb to go up to the top of the mountains through a small river and inside the primary forest and deep into the Nam Ha National protected Area. If you have questions during this part your local guide will share with you their knowledge of edible plants, poisonous plants and medicinal plants. You can collect some to eat for your diner. In the jungle, if you are lucky you will see many wild animals: monkeys, wild pigs, snakes...

Halfway through you’ll have a picnic in the jungle. After lunch you will continue again into the jungle to get to the camp stay and your guide will cook some jungle food with the bamboo. If you want to learn you can join him and start cooking. When you already have had diner you’ll do the night tour in the primary forest to see the wild life.

 

Day2  :  6 hour’s hat trek  

After your breakfast you will climb up the top of the mountain you’ll see the Animals salt on the mountaintops and after a 3 hours trek you will have lunch and take a break for 30 mins  with your guide. After that, you will continue towards the beautiful NamJong waterfallwhere you can take a photo and take a shower. Then, you will climb up from the jungle to the mountain top where you will walk through the agricultural areas of the Akha people. You can enjoy the view there; it is a good viewpoint of the jungle surrounded by mountains.When you have finished lunch your lead guide will tell you about animal games, then you will continue for 4 hours walking in the jungle. A driver will wait for you at the main road A3 to return to Laungnamtha.

 

what to bring ?

  • Hat banana, sunscreen, extra set of clothes and shoes in case you get wet, mosquito repellent, warm clothes for the evening(Nov-Mar) women need a sarong for bathing, towel rain jacket (if wet season), flashlight, money to buy  handicrafts and extra
