At 9:00 AM you will be picked up by the tuk-tuk at the Into the Wild office. The ride to the river takes about 30 minutes. The guide will first give you an instruction on paddle techniques before you enter the river by kayak or raft. You paddle through the woods alongside the Namtha, where tigers, bears, barking deer and many species of birds live. During the tour you visit the Lantan ethnic minorities in in the Ban Sop Tud village. Afterwards you will encounter a couple of exciting rapids which you will safely paddle through before lunch on the river bank. After a Lao style picnic-lunch there's time to rest and take a refreshing dip. Next, you'll continue to the Khmu village Ban Houay Leuat. The kayaking/rafting ends where Nam Ha and Namtha cross. There you'll be picked up by the tuk-tuk and are brought back to Luang Namtha in about 1 hour.

 

 

What to bring?

• Hat banana, sunscreen, extra set of clothes and shoes in case you get wet, mosquito repellent, warm clothes for the evening(Nov-Mar) women need a sarong for bathing, towel, rain jacket (if wet season), flashlight, money to buy  handicrafts and extra.
